Drinking water is essential to life, and drinking more water is a simple way to improve health. However, many folks do not drink enough water and instead turn to sugary drinks to quench their thirst.
The I Heart Water initiative goal is to lower the County’s rates of chronic disease & obesity by encouraging residents to adopt water as their go-to drink for life, work and play. Strategies are:
- Highlighting the positives of adopting a “water first for thirst” attitude.
- Improving access to drinking water in worksites and schools through policies, incentives and infrastructure (i.e. more water stations, more water in vending machines, rewards for achieving wellness goals).
